Lefty, I got a "What would you do in this situation?" question for you?
The guy who I replaced in the band I just joined has done a couple things
to sabatoge the band in any way he could. First he shut down the website,
since he apparently built it. Now someone has to go in and redo it. THEN,
the little pecker head told one of the clubs the band was booked in that
the band had broken up, which led them to book another band in our place.
We found out the day before the show about this. We were supposed to play
last night, and there's no telling how long it will be before we get back
in the schedule there. It's a new club, and they are booked way in advance,
including some traveling acts. The club is now pissed off at this guy for
twisting the truth.
Here's my question. Should I leave it up to my new band mates to deal with
this vidictive little $hit or should I take matters into my OWN hands and
kick his ass? I don't know if you can detect my anger, but I have had a
belly full of this guy already, and I have never even laid eyes on him.

| Dave , this kind of crap is common...walk away from it..not an easy thing
to do , but the goal here for you guys is move forward..concentrate on your
thing..one of the best lessons i learned in life is that sometimes, you
need to be patient ands let it unfold..make great music..as Linnie said,
confirm things with all current contacts..put up a temporary free web site,
one that just lists your shows..do not kick his ass or let this guy piss
you off..if you do you are giving him a satisfaction he does not deserve.. ____________________

Words
of wisdom...and you are right. The guy is acting like a baby, and I have
let his actions yank my chain. The website is back up, but not yet updated.
Hopefully we'll get his markings off of it and get mine on it, and we did
manage to pick up a private party for tomorrow, which will make up for the
one he screwed us out of Friday. Thanks for the advice Lefty. You're a real
pro! ____________________ "Left wing, right wing. It takes TWO wings to fly. Why can't they work

Big Brother Dave...
Little Brother John (bluedad) here. Agree with lefty 110%. That punk is
leeping well knowing that he screwed ya'll and you are left sitting in the
bed wondering when, how you are going to bust his rear. Ran into a similar
situation myself many years ago. Since we always used contracts we were
able to recoup the cost of the gig in small claims court. If you can get
all parties involved around the missed gig to provide statements, you might
have some legal recourse. At least this could be a threat to the ex
member.
You need to hit him where it hurts..in his pocket or you might witness his
dirtywork again.
If all else fails, tell Scott who he is. I'm sure Scott will kick his
ass.
Peace,
john h (bluedad)

Question for Lefty: Why did you choose a Strat that didn't go with your
shoes?

Hey BDOB....I was just cruising around the site & saw this post....it's
funny (really sad)now that Lefty's moved South he's had to deal with some
of the same crap isn't it??? But he's doing his best to follow his own
advice....it sure is hard sometimes.... |
